It’s Saturday, who needs a good laugh?

Welcome to The Super Special Saturday Snippet: Starring SCTV. For those unfamiliar with SCTV, it’s pretty much the Canadian version of Saturday Night Live – only funny. Most Americans recognize the show thanks to hosers Bob and Doug McKenzie who became a worldwide phenomenon. But this show was so much more than that. With stars like John Candy, Martin Short, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O’Hara, Harold Ramis and Dave Thomas – they taught myself and fellow Canadians what it meant to be funny. Or how to poke fun at Americans…either way, the show was a classic. So I hope you enjoy today’s clip:

High Q [1978]

SCTV’s spoof on everyone’s favorite high school game show.

Thanks for watching hipsters, hope to see you next week for another Super Special Saturday Snippet.

  2. Well, that brightened my morning. If only Jeopardy were like that at times, maybe just once a year.

  3. This feature trumps Texting Tuesday as my fave.

  4. What is this new thing? What’s with all the Canadians???

  5. Love your reviews give me a follow if you dont already do as I follow you

  6. I started throwing up at “Canadian” and haven’t stopped since Saturday.

  7. Eugene Levy is a comical genius.
I loved him in ‘Best of Show’ (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0218839/), but I think ‘A Mighty Wind’ is more hip.
